How to choose a healthcare cleaning company

Published by Puresite Clinical Cleaning ·

Price comparisons are easy and usually misleading. These are the factors that determine whether a healthcare cleaning contract still works twelve months in.

Ask how the method is documented

Does the provider work from a per-room task list, or a general checklist? Can they show you the colour-coding system and explain the order of work? If the method lives only in a cleaner's head, results will change the moment that person leaves.

Ask who is actually on site

Find out whether the same team attends each visit, how relief staff are briefed, and who supervises quality. Continuity is the single biggest predictor of consistent results in clinic cleaning.

Check the scope is specific to your facility

  • Room-by-room, not building-wide
  • Frequency stated per area
  • Periodic tasks scheduled with dates or cycles
  • Exclusions stated plainly
  • A named contact and a route for raising issues

Confirm insurance and employment basics

Ask for evidence of public liability insurance, confirmation that staff are properly employed and briefed on your access and privacy requirements, and clarity on how keys, codes and alarms are managed.

Test responsiveness before you sign

How quickly did they respond to your enquiry? Did they visit the site before quoting? A provider who quotes a clinic without walking it will discover the real workload after the contract starts — usually by quietly reducing what gets done.

Request a cleaning assessment for your facility

Tell us about your clinic and we'll prepare a cleaning programme built around your rooms, frequency and after-hours access.
