Changing cleaning providers without disrupting your clinic

Most practices delay changing cleaners because the transition feels risky. Handled in the right order, the changeover happens over a single weekend.
Before you give notice
- Check the notice period and any equipment or consumable arrangements in your current contract
- Confirm who holds keys, fobs and alarm codes
- Have the incoming provider complete a site assessment and issue a written scope
- Agree a start date that follows the last night of the outgoing service
The handover weekend
Keys and codes are returned and reissued, alarm contacts are updated, and the incoming team walks the site with your practice manager. Where the previous programme let things slip, this is the point to schedule a catch-up clean so the new routine starts from a good baseline rather than inheriting a backlog.
The first four weeks
Expect closer contact early: a walkthrough after the first week, adjustments to the room task lists, and confirmation that the schedule fits your actual session times. Small corrections in the first month prevent the slow drift that ends most cleaning contracts.
